Who We Are

The Azurion Story

Where Azurion Began

Azurion came together quietly — a small group of people who had spent years sailing the Andaman Sea for themselves, and eventually decided to share what they'd come to know. The operation is based out of Chalong Bay on Phuket's southern coast, a sheltered harbour that has served as a departure point for regional sailing for generations.

The name reflects something of our outlook. Azurion is a word we shaped from the colour of the water at depth — that particular blue that appears when you're far enough from shore for the seabed to disappear. It's the kind of colour that doesn't appear on any chart, but every sailor recognises it.

Our core focus is straightforward: crewed yacht charters that give guests the sea without the logistics. We handle the planning, the provisioning, the navigation, and the cooking. What remains is the water, the islands, and however you'd like to spend your time on board.

We run a small fleet and prefer it that way. Fewer vessels means more attention to each departure — cleaner boats, better-briefed crew, and the kind of care that gets harder to maintain at scale. Most of our guests find us through people they know, and many return for a second trip with a different itinerary.

Our Mission

To offer honest, well-run charters that let guests experience the southern Thai coast and its surrounding islands on their own terms — with the right crew, the right provisions, and no unnecessary complications.

Our Approach

We don't overbook. We don't rush departures. We brief guests properly before each trip and adapt the itinerary when conditions suggest something better. The goal is always a good day on the water — not a schedule met on paper.

Our Waters

We sail primarily between Chalong Bay, the Racha Islands, and the Phi Phi archipelago. These are routes our captains know well — the currents, the anchorages, the seasonal quirks. That familiarity makes a real difference to the quality of the trip.

How We Operate

Standards & Protocols

Marine Safety Compliance

All vessels are maintained to Thai Marine Department standards. Life jackets, safety flares, first-aid kits, and VHF communication are standard on every departure.

Licensed Crew

Every captain holds a valid offshore sailing licence. Crew members are trained in first aid and undergo regular safety refreshers.

Vessel Maintenance

Each yacht in the fleet is serviced on a scheduled basis. Engine checks and rigging inspections happen before every charter, not just annually.

Environmental Awareness

We observe no-anchor zones around reef areas and brief guests on responsible snorkeling. Waste is never disposed of at sea.

Guest Data Privacy

Contact details and booking information are held securely and used only for the purpose of managing your charter. We don't share guest data with third parties.

Weather Monitoring

Our crew reviews forecasts daily during sailing season. If a departure requires adjustment, we communicate with guests well in advance.

Sailing the Andaman Sea with Local Knowledge

The waters between Phuket's southern coastline and the Phi Phi archipelago represent some of the most navigable sailing in Southeast Asia. The season between November and April brings stable northeast winds, clear visibility, and manageable sea states that suit vessels of all sizes. Chalong Bay — where Azurion is based — sits at the southern tip of Phuket and offers direct access to the Racha Islands and the open channel toward the Krabi coast.

Charter sailing in this region rewards local knowledge more than most. The anchorages around Koh Racha Yai are sheltered and well-suited to overnight stays, but the exposed western side of the island catches afternoon weather differently than the charts suggest. The passage between Phuket and Koh Phi Phi runs against a tidal current during certain windows — timing the departure correctly makes the difference between a comfortable crossing and a long beat upwind.

Azurion's captains have accumulated that kind of knowledge over years of sailing these specific routes. It's what shapes itinerary recommendations, what informs departure times, and what allows the crew to make adjustments mid-trip that turn a good charter into a memorable one.
